Siebel Campaign Management Part-2

Continuing from Part-1...

Before Using Campaign management, one should have a clear understanding of the elements used. One must also know the difference among them.

Campaign, Offers and Treatment
Typically each campaign has a single offer, but you can associate multiple treatments with that offer.
Offers can be reused in many campaigns, but the campaign is a one-time instance of the offer presented to a customer at a certain point in time.
A treatment is a channel-specific instance of an offer. You create a treatment for every channel, such as email or direct mail, through which you want to deliver the offer.

A campaign is the initiative in which you convey a marketing message to one or more groups of people. Typically, campaigns deliver a promotional offer to retain current customers or to acquire new customers across channels of communication. For example, you may launch a phone campaign that invites contacts to sign up for a special promotion or deliver a direct mail campaign that provides a sample of a new product and a coupon offer to existing customers.

The goal of a marketing campaign is to create an opportunity that ultimately results in a sale, brand recognition, or some other type of response. Marketers use both direct and indirect campaigns to achieve these objectives.

Direct campaigns target individuals using multichannel approaches such as email and telephone. Contacts for the campaign are derived by applying segmentation criteria against a database of customer information and generating a list or by purchasing or renting a list of prospects.Multiple campaigns can use the same segment criteria.

Indirect campaigns target indeterminate groups of people whose general characteristics you may know, but whose exact composition you do not know. Examples of indirect campaigns are those that use television, radio, print ads, or other forms of media for delivery of the message. An indirect campaign is associated with a marketing program’s stage rather than with a specific segment or list.

Response Management
Siebel Campaigns use Response Management. Whenever prospects or contacts respond to an offer through any channel (by inbound email, the Web, a call center, or sales representative), their responses may be captured in detail using the Responses screen. Using Response views, you can determine which contacts to pursue as opportunities.

List Management
Siebel Campaigns use List Management to create and manage lists of contacts and prospects within your applications for use in marketing campaigns. A list is defined as a grouping of contact or prospect records in the Siebel database.
Difference between contact and Prospects
Contacts are customers already in the Siebel database. Prospects are potential customers that have yet to be screened, qualified, and promoted to contacts. By using this distinction, List Management can eliminate prospects that do not qualify for promotion to contacts.

Using Programs
A program is a multistep dialogue in which you can set up a series of communications to your customers and prospects. In the Programs screen, you can use the graphical drag-and-drop Program Flow view or the Program Explorer view to design and execute multistage, triggered, and recurring marketing programs using new or existing campaigns, lists, and segments.
You can establish multiple stages for a marketing program. Each stage can have multiple campaigns, lists, segments, and segment trees. Subsequent stages can be based on a customer response or any other event. For example, a visit by a sales person to a premium customer may trigger a follow-up email to that customer for the selected product.

  2. I was hoping someone could assist me with creating one list from multiple nodes of a segment tree. I have been told there is a prerequisite of setting up the campaign initially based on segment trees. Is this a software set up of just functionality prior to the campaign set up within the CRM application? I am looking for a fast answer as I am conducting a test at my place of employment. Thanks!

  3. You are right, It is just functionality of Campaign where you can get the recipients from the Segments. Although, Segments need to be created in OBIEE RPD and format needs to be aligned with OLTP application.

  4. Thank you for this wonderful post, it really helped me a lot. I don't understand what is the difference between Campaigns and Campaign Management. Can you shed some light into this?

  5. Campaign management is a process by which you conceptualize Campaign, create List , Add Offer, Add Treatment, Load and Launch.
The end product you get, that is Campaign.

  6. This post has been VERY helpful to understand the concepts of Campaign Management. I have one question - how do you store responses to campaigns when the user actually purchases something? This doesn't seem like it fits the definition of 'Responses' in Siebel, as Responses seem to be focused on leads. For example, if I have a campaign that offers a customer $5 if they purchase $20 worth of products, where does that show within Siebel when they spend the $20?

  7. Hi,

We have a campaign which is scheduled daily. We are monitoring it daily. What i would like to do is, once the campaign i slaunced successfully, it should send an email to the specified email id daily. How to achieve this? By doing this we can get rid of the manual monitoring. Please help me in this.

    Thanks,
    Raj

  15. Hi Everyone,

We are trying to load prospects using Load Campaigns. We have succefuly created the list and loaded the data for prospects. We can see the data in "All Contacts\Prospect" view but the status of the campaign remain as "Loading". Does anyone has faced such issue. We are doing a POC in Siebel vanilla. Are we missing something from installation/Administartion side.

  17. I saw some people have copied my post and added under their blogs, so i disable the right click. I agree that this is not a perfect solution. But I only have this solution right now

  18. yes, we have activated all the components which are specified in the bookshelf.

  19. Hi, the Status of the campaign changes from Loading to Launched only after you do the Campaign Launch. This inturn captures all the records that you see in your 'All Contacts/Prospects' view and generates a list file ( there will be wave generation in the process ), then the campaign status changes to 'Launched'.

  27. Hi ,

I have a requirement for respons emanagement, we will be getting responses captured from different application in a text delimited file , now we want to create a response and opportunity for the response entry in file.
I assume we can write a Repeating component and schedule it to run daily. In that RF we can build a WF and in that wf a BS, in which we can call the siebel Vanilla BS Method "OnCreateResponseClicked" to create response then call siebel vanilla BS Method "OnCreateOpptyClicked.
I wanted to know what inputs are required to call these Methods. I have check Bookshelf but could any find any information.

Also, please help me in deciding the file structure for processing.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  30. Hi Friends,

I have a problem in Campgn Mgmt. When I am trying to add contacts from external sources like CSV/TXT file to the existing list using the option Admin - Marketing - Import. Contact records are creating in Contact BC but those are not adding to the list. I have tried another option of converting the prospects into contacts but not converting. I have simulated vanilla WFs "Promote Many.." & "Promote Single.." I am getting the error like "There are no records returned. pelase execute a query that returns atleast one record". But, I see the prospect record in UI and in DB also. Can any one help me either in converting prospect into contact or to add contact records to a list from external sources (TXT/CSV).

    Thanks,
